Policies

Published policies

These policies govern how the Foundation makes grants and how it handles the information it receives. Copies are available on request.

Grant-Making Policy

Grants are made only in furtherance of the Foundation's charitable objects. Every application is assessed for charitable purpose and public benefit, subject to proportionate due diligence, approved by the trustees, made subject to written terms and monitored after payment. Greater scrutiny is applied to overseas grants, grants to non-charities and grants to first-time recipients.

Privacy Policy & Data Protection Notice

Information submitted through this website is used solely to assess, administer, monitor and account for grant applications, and to meet the Foundation's legal and regulatory obligations. Applications are visible only to the trustees and authorised administrators. Hardship applications are treated as confidential and are never published in identifiable form. Records are retained for as long as required for charity accounting and audit purposes, and are then deleted. You may request access to, or correction of, the information you have provided.

Safeguarding Statement

The Foundation expects every organisation it funds to have safeguarding arrangements appropriate to its activities, and asks for a safeguarding policy where a project involves children or adults at risk. Concerns raised with the Foundation are considered by the trustees and reported to the relevant authority where required.

Complaints Policy

Complaints about the Foundation or its grant-making may be sent to the grants address below and will be acknowledged and considered by the trustees. Complainants who remain dissatisfied may raise the matter with the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

Conflict of Interest Policy

Trustees declare any personal, family or financial interest in an applicant or proposal. A conflicted trustee withdraws from the decision, and both the declaration and its management are recorded.

Anti-Money Laundering & Sanctions

The Foundation verifies the identity of recipient organisations, confirms bank account details independently of the application where appropriate, and screens applicants against applicable sanctions measures before payment is authorised.

Requests for a signed copy of any policy, the annual accounts or the trustees' annual report may be sent to grants@freilichfamilyfoundation.com.
