Governance

Governance & transparency

The Foundation is governed by its trustees in accordance with its Memorandum and Articles of Association and the requirements of the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

Trustees

The Foundation's trustees are listed on the public Register of Charities, which is maintained by the Charity Commission and updated as trustee appointments change. The register entry is the authoritative source and can be viewed at any time.

How decisions are made

Grant applications are considered by the trustees having regard to the Foundation's charitable objects, available resources, public benefit, due diligence and the merits of each application. Approvals record the amount, purpose, any restrictions on use and the monitoring required.

Conflicts of interest

Trustees declare any interest in an applicant or proposal. A conflicted trustee does not participate in the decision on that application, and the declaration and its management are recorded in the Foundation's records.

Public benefit

The trustees have regard to the Charity Commission's public benefit guidance in carrying out the Foundation's purposes, and consider public benefit as part of every grant decision.

Accounts & reporting

The Foundation files annual accounts and a trustees' annual report with the Charity Commission. Published figures for the most recent year are income £347,167 and expenditure £345,686 for the year ended 30 December 2024.
